The introduction of cold hardy wine grape varieties by the University of Minnesota has been an amazing catalyst to the growth of Minnesota's grape and wine industry. The opportunity to successfully grow high quality grapes in a cold climate has led to a dramatic increase in the number of vineyards and wineries. Many of these wineries are now offering wonderful wine trail experiences.
